Well, it’s that time of year again. Time for my yearly scrapbook retreat. 10 of us ladies, once again headed to Wooded Glenn in Henryville, IN for a wonderful weekend of food, fellowship, painting, scrap booking and fun! We are treated like Queens from the staff at Wooded Glen. We couldn’t ask for better hosts. I pray the Lord blesses them for their kindness to us.
The view from our room. Our rooms were huge! And very clean. The cleaning ladies at Wooded Glenn do an awesome job of keeping things clean. This is one of the many reasons we choose to go back there for our retreats.
This is the lodge where we ate and scrapbooked. Very, very nice!!
Another view of the area. Beautiful sunrise! I wish i had been a bit earlier. I think I would have captured it better. But it was still nice to see.
All the ladies (minus me) at breakfast. We had a lot of food this weekend. The people at Wooden Glen feed us very well. 3 very filling meals a day plus fresh baked cookies in the evenings AND all the snacks and drinks we could eat. On Saturday as we were just finishing up breakfast, we had a nice visit from a mommy deer and her baby. We all tried to take pictures but mine didn’t come out. The glass doors between us and them made the picture taking a bit challenging . But it was a nice experience.
The scrap booking room. The painters were in a separate room so when we took a break from scraping, we visiting with the painters, and vice versa.
Rachael was a newbie on this trip. It was not only her first retreat, but it was also her first time scrap booking. This is her very first page. Good Job Rachael!!
Jennifer completes her vacation pictures. She’s so glad to finally get them done. They are beautiful!!
The whole gang (minus Jeanene who was taking the picture).
In the food line. Again. We can’t say we starved. All of the food was awesome! And we ate until we didn’t even want to look ate food again. I really need to buy one of their cookbooks.Â
I took a break from scrap booking and decided to do some painting. I wanted to do a winter scene, even tho spring is almost here. I’ve done a fall scene, already, so now that i’ve done a winter scene, I’d like to do a spring and summer one. Then i’ll have a painting for every season.
The finished product! I am quite happy with the way it has turned out.
Sis Cathy won the door prize. A pre made scrapbook. All she has to do is add the pictures. She is our “painting teacher” and doesn’t scrapbook. She comes on the retreat to paint. Well now she says, she’ll have to try to scrapbook.Â
I completed a total of 70 scrapbook pages and 1 oil painting. It was quite the productive weekend for me. I only gained 3 lbs this weekend, so I’m happy about that. I expected to gain at least 5, so I’ll not complain about the 3.
I can’t wait until the next retreat!!
