This past weekend, “Barnum and Bailey” Circus, was in Louisville. The last time I was at a circus, was probably around 22-23 years ago. No joke. And my kids have never been to one. Even tho the homeschool convention was also this past weekend, we weren’t planning on going until the convention until Friday. The Circus started Thursday night, so we decided to take the kids. I think every kid needs to experience the circus at least once in their life.
So, off we went…
I must say…I don’t remember there being so much “singing” in circus’ before, but then, it’s been a good long while. Over all , tho, it was very well done. We had pretty decent seats. The boys love it. Glorianna liked the clowns, but was a bit disappointed that they weren’t “very funny.” I think most of the funny stuff she just didn’t catch. AND she was tired. The circus was a bit too long for her. It lasted about 3 hours. After the first hour, she was done and ready to go home. For the most part, tho, she didn’t do too bad.
The tightrope walkers were probably my favorite. They were amazing. Wow is all I can say. I don’t know how anyone can stay that balanced. I can’t even balance that well on the flat ground, nevermind a skinny rope insainly high up in the air.
Trevor really liked the tigers. They were pretty cool. The “poo-d” on the floor a few times during the show and that was pretty funny!
We expected to see a “human cannon ball” some time during the show. But instead what we saw was even better! The “Human fireball”. They set a guy on fire, and then shot him from a giant cross bow. He went flying thru the air and landed on a huge air mattress. They then “put him out” with a fire extinguisher. Amazing!!
I really liked the elephants too. I still think it’s pretty cool to get an animal that large, to do much of anything besides walk. =) They also “poo-d” on the floor quite a bit during the show. HA!!
We got home kind of late, so the kids were all very tired, but they really enjoyed themselves. Excitement overload!!!
