Early this morning, as I stiffled a yawn
From the dresser a small clatter put me in alarm,
“What what that?” I mumbled as Trevor just moaned,
“Something is in here.” I bellowed, but from the room he had flown.
As I lay there, wondering what it could be,
Over my head something did flee.
I screamed and I yelled as Trevor came running,
and flipped on the light to see a bat, oh so cunning.
Amidst screams and yells, Trevor races around,
Hopeing to chase the poor creature to ground.
He opens the windows and door as he runs,
Waving his arms but carries no gun.
Only a flashlight he waved round his head
while kids and his wife all scream from their beds
At last the poor creature, through the door it does fly
While inside the house they heaved a great sigh.
Trevor, the hero, returns from his mission
with a smile on his face that has a great glisten.
The family is saved, the bat is now gone,
and when’s the next mission? how far and how long?
We don’t know, but one thing is sure,
It will be fun, and we will endure.
