For Labor Day weekend, we decided to head to South Carolina.  Bro. Luke G. was having special services there, and we always look for an excuse to head that way.Â
We were supposed to head out on Friday, about noonish, but just as we were on our way out the door, Trevor got called back into work. It was an unexpected, work related, emergancy that just could not be helped, so back into work he went, while the rest of us waited to see what the outcome would be. He ended up having to work till about 7 pm, so needless to say we didn’t get to leave on Friday as we had planned.  We got up at 4 am on Saturday morning and headed out .  We arrived at our destination around 1 pm and were welcomed quite warmly, as always, by the wonderful “R” family.Â
(Nathan B. and his family also came to South Carolina.  Bro. Luke had asked him to speak for 2 of the services.)
Service on Saturday night was great. Nathan spoke on “Quickening Power” and did a wonderful job.  The Worship service was awesome, and I sure do miss it. Trevor got to play the Saxaphone while we were there, since he didn’t preach this time. I had forgotten how great of a Saxaphone player he was.Â
Sunday Morning Service, we got to hear Bro. Luke preach. He did an awesome job! The Lord really blessed us.
After church we went to “Fuddruckers” for lunch with a bunch of the church people. I don’t like the name of that resturant. I sounds like a “bad word” to me every time I hear it. Call me weird, but that’s the truth. But the food was good.Â
Back to church Sunday Night. Nathan preached again, and did another fine job.
Lots of great singing and fellowshipping with the Saints of God. Oh for the day when we can sing and fellowship and never have to say good bye.Â
Monday morning we got in as much time as we could, visiting with Marie and her family. Marie helped me make a new skirt. We really enjoyed some great talks. We had a hard time saying good bye and actually left 2 hours later then we planned.
On the way home, we had planned on going to Cherakee , North Carolina to get in some educational stuff. They have a Cherakee museum and villiage, but sadly, both were closed when we got there. So our educational part of the trip didnt happen.Â
The drive home was beautiful tho. We drove thru the mountains and it was just breathtaking at times.Â
We arrived back home at 11 pm, Monday night, tired, but happy.Â
We miss our South Carolina “family”, and can’t wait to go back again, but it is good to be home.
