School is going very well this year. I moved Glorianna to the school room and bought her some headphones to use while she does her DVD school. She hated being by herself in the other room last year, so this was a new attempt. So far it’s going well.
Zion and Azariah are both doing “Moving Beyond the Page” and “Saxon” Math. This is Azariah’s first year with MBTP and he seems to really like it. We were a little worried about him using it because of all the reading that is required, but his reading is coming along nicely and he’s loving this curriculum.
I now have kids in 6th, 4th, and 1st grades…where has the time gone?
Glorianna has been learning about the Statue of Liberty this past week, so one of her school projects was to make a hat and torch. She loved it and wanted me to take her picture. She put on an old dress up gown and posed.
Ok…so this really has nothing to do with school but I found it hilarious. Azariah loves to play dress up. When he’s in the mood, he usually stays in his costume of choice all day. On this particular day he was a Storm Trooper. He even practiced his piano lessons in his costume.
For one of Zion’s school projects, he had to make a salt dough map. He let Azariah help him with the mixing and such. It was a huge mess but the kids had fun. The dough didn’t turn out exactly like it should have, and I let them do it all on their own, so I’m not sure if Zion just messed up the portions or what…but in the end, he ended up leaving the dough out all night so that it hardened a bit, and then he was able to use it. I forgot to take a picture of the final project, tho. Oops..
