A good friend of ours was set to get married on Valentines Day, and he asked Trevor to perform the ceremony. The only downside of this was that the wedding was taking place in Canada. Which meant that since it was to be a short trip, that just Trevor would be going. I didn’t mind too badly. It’s not really a big deal that he’d be gone over Valentine’s Day. We could celebrate later. Besides…I’m really happy for Mahlon. He’s been raising his son alone ever since his wife died, that he deserves some excitement in his life again.
But Trevor didn’t forget about us. He ordered some goodies from Amazon and had them delivered to our house on Valentines Day. What a sweet and wonderful surprise.
He’s knows me very well. I couldn’t ask for a better present.
The kids have discovered a love for perlar beading lately, so he surprised them with some beads and an idea book.
Here’s some pictures of the wedding.
Mahlon had his son, Isaiah be the best man. I think that’s the sweetest thing ever!
I love this one. It’s one of my favorites of the wedding. The look on Isaiah’s face is priceless! He has a new mommy now. I’m so happy for all of them. Congrats to Mahlon, Melissa and Isaiah.
Trevor flew back home on Sunday. I’m glad he came home when he did because Sunday night we were hit with a good sized snowstorm. His plane was a bit delayed as it was because of the storm up north which hadn’t hit us yet, so I’m glad he made it home before the storm or there’s not telling how long he’d have been delayed.
So because of the storm, Trevor’s office shut down for two days. But that didn’t stop us from having fun. Or doing school as planned. =) Even tho Trevor’s office was closed, he had to do some work from home, so I did school with the kids. We’re homeschoolers…no making up useless snowdays at the end of the year for us!! We’ll just get out that much earlier. WOO!!
Anyway…we finished a bit early both days because with Trevor being home I had some help teaching. (Boy will I miss that now that he’s gone back to work today) So the kids got to enjoy some sledding, some hot cider, some fun in the snow and some trips out and about with us in the old faithful 4 wheel drive. We had been given some gift cards to the cheesecake factory this past Christmas and hadn’t gotten around to using them yet, so off we went yesterday for an early supper. The kids have never been to the cheesecake factory before and I’ve only been once or twice, so this was a nice experience for them. 6-8 inches of snow can’t keep us down!!
And as if that wasn’t enough….it’s snowing again this morning….
