My first “Fancy Dress”

Glorianna has been begging me to make her a “princess” dress, for a good long while now. I’m not very comfy with making those fancy styles. They just seem so hard and time consuming. But over Christmas break, a friend came to visit, and together we got things going. She’s an excellent seamstress, so she was very encourgaing to me and really helped me get over my fear of fancy sewing. I must admit, I spent a lot of time taking out seams and redoing parts of the dress, but the finished product made it worth it. I’m glad I was able to overcome this fear. Fancy dresses are so much fun to make. I made this one out of cotton/polyester fabric so I can wash it in the washing machine. No dry clean only dresses for my daughter. ha ha ha.

Anyway…so here’s my finished product and Glorianna loves it.

Wow!! About the only thing I can sew is to patch the farmer’s work jeans….I’m all thumbs when it comes to sewing. Good job!!

ha ha …well i’ve been sewing for about 5 years now. I’ve been slowly improving over the years ,. I’m used to just making simple jumpers, and denim skirts, so this was a big step for me. But I think I’ve found a new love. =)
