Kitchen remodel part 3

The backsplash is done!!! The grout was tedious but well worth it.

Before: outdated wallpaper that I put up 10 years ago. I loved it at the time. It was better than the ugly paper that was there when we moved in. But 10 years later the ivy wall paper had become very, very outdated. So we removed both the wall paper from above the counter top and the trim above the cabinets.

Then began the process of applying the new back splash.

We had to add a border around the top because we were a bit short on the back splash. We thought about trying to add the back splash to those areas but with it being a mixture of glass, tile, and metal it was going to be a bit rough. So we just picked some tile squares that seemed to match and went with that.

It’s barely noticeable anyway….so it worked out good.

It doesn’t even look like the same kitchen!! I’m so amazed. I love how it turned out. We haven’t done anything with the top yet or the dining area. But that will be much easier to do then the rest of the kitchen. We are still tossing ideas around on what to do in those areas. I’d also like to get new appliances at some point but that a huge chunk of change and mine still work, so that wont be rushed.

Hope you enjoyed the transformation journey.
