Where do I begin?? A lot has been happening lately. Trevor has been in and out of the country preaching as well as preaching at our home church.
Zion started playing cello in church as well as piano. He started off just playing piano for specials but then was added to the back up list for when someone couldn’t be there. He started playing cello for all three services about a month ago and now he’s the new Sunday night piano player. So he bounces back and forth between piano and cello. He’s really enjoying it. School is going well. Azariah and Glorianna are becoming more and more independent with their schooling. I’m mostly just in the room for help, creating lesson plans, grading tests and supervision purposes so that they stay on track. I can’t believe how fast my kids are growing up. Zion is doing good in collage and has also picked up a side job working for one of the local Brothers who has a cleaning business. Bro. Scott needed help at one of the businesses he cleans at in the evenings (which happens to be IPA where Trevor works) and it worked well with Zion’s school schedule, so he took the job. He just works 4 days a week for a few hours in the evenings, but it’s enough to give him the extra money he needs for school stuff. He’s still hoping to pick up some more piano students but so far hasn’t been able to get any. So working for Bro. Scott is the best option right now.
Even when Zion isn’t at class, he still has homework, so there are a few times it feels like old times.
Glorianna went to a birthday party. It was western themed and they even had a horse for the girls to ride. She really enjoyed that.
We bought a new(er) SUV. A 2003 Lexus. This one will be replacing Trevor’s explorer. It’s been needing a lot of work lately so we aren’t sure how much longer it will last. One of the pilots was selling this Lexus at a really good price, so we went ahead and bought it. The nice thing about pilots is that they take really good care of their vehicles. This one is 16 years old but you can’t really tell. It looks great and drives so nice.
Sunday School is going really well for me. Im enjoying teaching and watching the kids learn. I’ve really gotten to know my 20 or so kids and its fun to listen to and watch their interactions.
My cousin’s daughter got married this past weekend, so we went to that. It was a little hard to believe that she is old enough to get married…she’s only a year older than Zion. Scary!!
A new turn of events is that Zion has finally accepted his calling to the ministry. He felt the Lord calling him into it about 3 years ago but just didn’t really do anything about it. But over the last year the Lord has really been confirming that call and pulling a lot stronger on him. So a couple of months ago Zion went and talked to Bro. Nathan about it and just asked him to keep him in prayer. Bro. Nathan told him to pray about doing the September Bible study.
(a little back up note… We have so many kids now that about 3 months ago, Bro. Nathan decided to break the monthly Bible studies up into two groups. 10-14 and 15-up. It works much better for the teachers as well as the kids.)
So after some prayer, Zion ended up doing the 15-up Bible study in September. Trevor was there to help him in case he needed help. Zion took everyone through why we believe Bro. Branham is a prophet and how to show someone based on scripture. And then had the kids break up into groups and practice witnessing to each other. Zion did very well with it despite the fact he was nervous. We got a lot of positive feedback from the kids in attendance who said that the lesson was very helpful to them and how much they enjoyed it. That was encouraging to Zion as well as to Trevor and I. Zion will also be teaching the 14 and up Sunday School next week because Bro. Steve (the regular teacher) will be out of town. So things are moving along. (Another proud mom moment)
So as you can see…the last month or so has been really busy. But life is good. No complaints here. We are doing what the Lord has called us to do and He has been so good to us.
