Home School Fall Festival

This past Saturday was our Homeschool Fall Festival. It was Jubilee based and Carnival themed which made for a lot of fun and learning for kids as well as adults.

If you can see the welcome sign…it’s really cool. All of these pictures were taken with my phone, so sorry if they aren’t the best. I didn’t think to take the real camera.

There were several booths set up that were run by different homeschool families. There was a question or two at each booth that had something to do with the theme of the booth and Bro Branham. This was the “Are You a Rider?” booth and you had to name the horse that Bro Branham mentions in that story. If you got it right you got a ticket. Then you used your tickets for prizes.

At this booth you got to take apart and put back together the metal thingies on the telephone wires. (sorry i dont know the name of it). It was the job that Bro Branham has for 17 years, which was one of the questions at this booth. 😉 You could also climb up the telephone pole. They had spikes drilled into it for that purpose. But Glorianna didn’t want to climb it.

Another booth had fishing poles that you had to practice casting into blow up pools off in the distance. Dad wasn’t really helping out at this booth but he was there when Glorianna was, so he helped her out for a bit.

There was a pie baking contest. Kids or parents were allowed to bake a pie and enter it. Then they broke the pies up into categories to judge. Citrus pies, fruit pies, cream pies, etc. Trevor entered a Key Lime Pie. He won first place in his category.

Zion was one of the judges for the pie baking contest. He judged the chocolate category. Thankfully he didn’t have to help judge the one that Trevor’s pie was in.

Pie eating contest!! I missed pictures of this because I was off doing another booth with Glorianna, but Zion said it was fun. Even if he didn’t win. =)

Glorianna is filling out her paper with the questions on it. If you completed the entire paper you turned it in and got a “Jubilee” Pen.

Sorry the picture is so blurry. Its a trumpet with a tape attached that says Jubilee Festival on it and the years 1964 and 2014.

This booth was fun. You were blind folded, spun around, and then had to hold up your hand to try to find the wire that was attached to a couple of posts, and make it back to camp.

Towards the end of the festival, Bro. Timmy G. dressed up like the Indian for the story “Me Sick” and acted out that story. Bro Michael B. was giving out free tickets to all of the kids and the Indian kept coming up and tapping Bro Michael on the shoulder and saying “Me Sick” so he could get a ticket too. Bro Michael kept sending him to the back of the line. It was very funny to watch and the kids really had the story come alive to them.

Keep your eyes on the end!! This one was hard. You’d be surprised at the number of kids and adults who couldn’t ride the bike across the board without falling off.

The homeschool group really went over and above on this event. We used the parking lot of the YFYC and it was a beautiful day.
