Today was Glorianna’s birthday. She tured 6. Yup…my baby girl is now a 6 year old. Boo hoo…
She lost her “official” first tooth, two days ago. (The reason I say “official” is because she had to have one pulled a couple of months ago, because of a cavity gone wrong.) She is very proud of her first missing tooth. It was so loose on Tuesday night that we were afraid she would swollow it in her sleep. It was hanging on by a very small piece of skin. So Trevor pulled it. It took some persuading, but he got it done without any tears.
Today was her party. And when I say party, I really mean a “glorified playdate”. She has a few friends over and we have cupcakes or cake. They play. I relax. It’s all good. =)
Today I made cupcakes. And lemonade. And we had the party outside. It was beautiful today. Only in the low 70’s. I took some of Glorianna’s dress up clothes outside, her “vanity”, a school table and set up bean bag toss. The girls played dress up, jumped on the trampoline, colored, ate cupcakes, and had a grand ole time, while I chatted with some of the mommies.
After all of this, Glorianna opened her presents, thanked all of her friends, and off the girls went to play some more.
Over all it was a fun filled day. After supper, we had to rush off to soccer practice, where the kids on Glorianna’s team helped end the celebration. I brought yet more cupcakes for each of the kids to enjoy after practice.
I made the pricess dress Glorianna’s doll is wearing. I found the doll at a yardsale for $4 so I grabbed it up. Complete with the dress I made for her, Glorianna’s new princess doll was quite the hit.
Here’s some pictures of the event…Enjoy!!
PS…the blowing out of candles was purely for pictures. It was a bit windy outside and I couldn’t get the candles lit for nothing. So after singing happy birthday she just pretended to blow out the candles, which was still fun.
