We have snow….well, sort of. It has been a very mild winter this year. What little bit of snow we have had, hasn’t even been worth the mess it causes. Less then half an inch. Light dusting. A few flurries here and there. That’s about it.
So when the kids woke up to snow on Valentine’s Day, they were very excited. Of course, even tho the grass was barely covered and it looked like we had, maybe half an inch, the kids were excited, none the less. I put school on a “two hour delay” and let the kids go outside to play in the snow. If the day was going to be like normal, the snow would be gone by that evening anyway. So I didn’t mind postponing school for a few hours, and it was worth it. The kids managed to get a good sized snowman buit, much to my surprise.
Isn’t he cute??
As the sun came out, and the temprature rose, just a little, but enough to make a difference, what was left of the snow on the ground, totally melted. By the Trevor got home from work, there was no snow left in the yard, but there was the remains of a snowman. It was quite a sight I’m sure. The snowman has lost an arm and his face, and he looks as if he’s loosing weight. I’m not sure how much longer he will last…poor guy.
In other news….Kezia (our cat) does NOT like the snow. She mewed at the door and windows all day long, like her little heart was breaking. She’d try to find any dry spot she could, to sit in and dry off. It was pretty pathetic to watch her. We’ve tired letting her inside, but she like to scratch up my rocking chair, so she is not going to stay inside. Glorianna still sneaks her in when she thinks I’m not looking, and I don’t mind, as long as she watches her. I don’t want a cat running free in the house. Expecially one that scratches on my chairs. So she is destined to stay an outdoors. Zion was holding the cat on his lap the other day (after I had covered the chair so the cat wouldn’t scratch it) and he said he felt like te bad guy on Inspector Gadget…
In yet other news…I decided to surprise Trevor and make him a cheesecake for Valentine’s day. This was my first attempt at making a cheesecake. I burned the top a bit, but it turned out pretty good…for my first one. I’m sure I’ll improve with practice. Trevor was actually surprised. It’s not often that I can surprise him, so it felt good. **For those of you who don’t know, Cheesecake is Trevor’s favorite dessert. He’s a firm believer that there will be cheesecake in the Millinium. ha ha **
Trevor is taking me out on a date, tomorrow night, as a delayed Birthday/Valentine’s Present. This is going to be fun. I’m really looking forward to it. We haven’t been out in while.
And that’s about it for now…
