A couple of days after Christmas, we packed up and got ready to head to Florida. Trevor had been invited to preach over New Years at Bro. Jack’s so we were going to make a full trip out of it and hit a few other churches while we were there.
The plan was to leave Friday after Trevor got off of work and drive to GA, spend the night there and finish the trip on Sat. Things started off a bit rocky. The rental car place had our SUV ready but it stunk like smoke so bad that there was no way we were going to drive that all the way to FL and back. It took a couple of hours for them to find us something else, so two and a half hours later than our planned departure, we finally headed out. We made it just past Atlanta around midnight, where we ran into another delay. Our hotel didn’t have our reservation. So much for online reserves. Because it is New Years weekend, a lot of the hotels were full. But we finally found one that had 1 room left and we took it.
After breakfast on Saturday morning, we headed out again. And guess what??? Yup. More delays.
Ugh…traffic. And more traffic. It seemed like we’d never reach our destination. This pushed our arrival time back about 2 hours, (even tho it sure seemed like a lot longer) but we finally made it to Bro. Jack’s house in West Palm Beach on Saturday night. I told Trevor that the Lord must be going to give us some good services this week because it sure seems like the Devil is trying hard to get us frustrated.
Services number 1 and 2 were very good. Trevor preached on “The Coming Supernatural” Sunday Morning at Bro Jack’s and then “No One Must Know” that evening at Bro Wesco’s. People were blessed and lives were drawn closer to God.
Glorianna loved the palm trees.
Monday we hung out at Bro Jacks then went to service that night to bring in the new year. Trevor taught on “The Significance of the Seven Trumpets”. A lesson that really shows how the Message and History tie in together and just confirms what we believe.
Tuesday, being New Years Day, we had a cookout at Bro Jack’s and played games with his family. Loads of fun and fellowship.
Wednesday morning, after breakfast, we packed up the SUV and headed to our next destination – Tampa. Trevor preached for Bro Karl H. that evening and “No One Must Know” had a big impact on one young man who spent some time after service talking to Trevor and Bro Karl. It’s times like that, that make the sacrifice worth it.
Thursday and Friday were our family days, so we had a few different things planned for those two days.
Watching “Christopher Robin” at the hotel. If you are a Winnie the Pooh fan you will love this movie. Its true to the story and its very cute. I loved it.
We also went to a Fish Place for lunch that Trevor had seen on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”. Sound familiar? Thats because we went to a DDD restaurant in Maine during our Boston Trip.
We really enjoyed “Medieval Times”. We cheered for the Blue Knight, who ended up being the bad guy. How does this happen to us?? When we saw Medieval Times in Chicago several years ago. we cheered for the Green Knight who was also the bad guy.
After leaving our hotel on Friday afternoon, we headed to our final destination – Sarasota. We had some more family time on Saturday, so there was a game of frisbee golf (a first for us) Zion enjoying the piano in the hotel lobby, some shopping, and an escape room.
How do you like Trevor’s beard? He’s decided to try and grown one and see if he likes it. It’s been almost a month now and he’s still unsure of how he feels about it.
The final day of our trip was Sunday where Trevor would be preaching for Bro Danny S. He taught on the “Seven Trumpets” in the morning and “No One Must Know” in the evening. Both services were very good and a few people came forward for prayer. Bro Danny wants us to come back again in 2019, so I guess we’ll see what happens.
In between services on Sunday, Trevor and the kids hung up their hammocks they got for Christmas and had a short rest.
Some pretty light covered Palm Trees.
We packed up and headed back home on Monday morning. We stopped at Chick Fil-A in GA for a quick lunch and saw this cute GA Bulldog.
We made really good time on the way home. Thank the Lord there wasn’t much for traffic and the one delay we had was only about 10 mins. We arrived home at 9:45 Monday night and are glad to be back.
