Well, we got back last week from Florida. It was a good trip. One of those “preaching vacations” as AnnaMay likes to call them.
I spoke for 3 services, and then did a “graduate address” at a graduation.
It was quite a long trip, and very very busy. Of course, AnnaMay and I are always up for adventure, and that’s just what a week long trip is with 3 kids, especially if you are flying somewhere.
The kids really did great, I’m very proud of them. They remained in good moods for the most part for the entire week. Of course, buying toys helped, and Bro Jack’s pool. Zion especially deserves commendation. He was still recovering from strep throat for the first few days, and he was still in some pain. He really didn’t complain that much for his throat looking like it was.
AnnaMay pretty much blogged the trip, with pictures on her blog so I don’t really feel like I should repost them all up here. Go see them there!
About the only thing she didn’t cover, would be the “brother’s fellowship” at the park. That was an interesting (if not catastrophic in some senses) day. I did a little geocaching, went kayaking, some biking, we grilled out, and got a tour of a really nice park. I got to see some fruit trees I’ve never seen before, and a pair of baby deer twins. Only a month old or so. Really beautiful animals.
Well, I guess that’s about it.
In other news, Zion’s baseball league has ended for the year. We forfeit our tournament game because we had some communication issues I guess. I hated ending the year on that. I’m proud of the kids tho, they all got alot better at the game throughout the season. Some of the kids could hardly hit the ball, were hitting every game by the end. It was a good year overall. I was disappointed by the finish, but happy enough with how we did through the year. It’s certainly a challenge working with 10 six year olds, and keeping them focused on a game.
Bro Jeffords is back to teaching Sunday school now. This past Sunday was my first “Sunday Off” in 6 months. I enjoyed teaching the class, and I hope the kids learned, and grew in Christ. Bro Jeffords wants me to stay engaged with the class, so I think after a month or two, he’s going to have me teach the class every now and then, even if he’s around, just to keep me up to date with the kids.
As for now, I intend to try to catch up on sleep and just relax some if I can. With Sunday School and the preaching trip, and coaching Zion’s baseball team, I’ve been running full tilt. I’m ready for a break, and I’ve been noticing my patience wearing a bit thinner. So I’m looking forward to the break, and hope to destress, relax, and otherwise gain more patience and chillify.
For those interested in how the -52 in 52 is going, I’m currently a bit ahead of schedule. I’m now seeing weights that I can’t remember the last time I saw. Surely it’s been since Zion has been born that I’ve been down to these levels. I’m happy with progress, it’s been easy enough so far, and I’m just mostly making better choices, and hitting the elliptical (although not as often…)
Now that my schedule doesn’t have something going on EVERY EVENING. I should be able to get on the elliptical more, and those numbers should keep plunging nicely.
Well, that’s it for now. Have a great one!!
-Trevor
