Family Vacation/Preaching Trip

Last week we were finally able to take a family vacation. It was also a preaching trip but because there was only two services, it ended up being more of a vacation then an actual preaching trip. Our first stop was in Panama City, FL. We arrived on Tuesday evening and checked into our hotel. Wednesday morning we got up, ate breakfast and went down to the beach for a few hours. Because most of the other people didn’t start showing up on the beach until around 10, we had a couple of hours of quiet beach time. Our hotel was on the beach so we enjoyed a wonderful view as well as easy access to the beach.

The kids had a blast playing in the water and Glorianna built a sand pyramid.

Wednesday evening we headed to church at Bro. Slay’s, where Trevor preached on “No One Must Know”. Bro. Slay is a really sweet, older brother and even tho his church is small (only about 15 people) they welcomed us with open arms and we enjoyed some food and fellowship after the service.

Thursday morning, after spending some more time on the beach, we checked out of our hotel, did some shopping and sight seeing….

The Wonderworks Museum was pretty neat.

….and then headed to our next destination – Mobile, Alabama. On the way we came across a Buc-ee’s. Apparently these are known all over Texas and one has just opened in AL. They are huge. It’s the biggest truck stop/gas station I’ve ever seen.

Glorianna wanted her picture taken in front of the wall of gummies.

Zion had to buy a stuffed Buc-ee.

I didn’t get any pictures of our time in Alabama. We arrived at our hotel on Thursday afternoon, cleaned up a bit and then headed over to Bro. Bray’s house. We had a wonderful evening of food and fellowship. Zion and Azariah loved hanging out with their friend Jeremiah and Glorianna got to know his sister Brianna pretty well. They even did some baking together.

Friday morning we took some family time and headed to Fairhope, AL and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at a cute little diner called “Panini Pete’s”. The town had several shops and was very enjoyable just walking around and shopping. It’s such a cute little town. When we had finished there, we headed over to the Bray’s, picked up Jeremiah and Brianna and went and played some minigolf. That was a lot of fun. Then back to the Bray’s we went for more food and fellowship.

Sunday morning we went to church at Bro. Bray’s church. Trevor preached “No One Must Know” and we spent the afternoon fellowshipping with their church. Bro. Bray’s church is also a small church of only about 20 people but they are sweet people and were very welcoming to us.

We packed up on Monday morning and headed out, arriving back home about 8 pm. Overall it was a wonderful, relaxing trip and we had a really good time. Looking forward to visiting with the saints from there again.
