This is going to be a long post. It’s the final Vacation one and I don’t want to break it up. You’ve been warned.
Friday morning we checked out of the house in Boston and headed to our final destination – Niagara Falls. We had to stay on the American side because the kids’ passports had expired and we didn’t have time to get them renewed before our trip. Because we got there later in the afternoon, we had supper before heading to the falls. We wanted to be there when it got lit up at night. And are we glad we did. How beautiful!
Saw this pretty site off in the distance and had to take a picture.
A view from another area. You could feel the spray from the falls a little.
After the park closed, we headed back to our hotel for the night. Saturday morning was our last vacation day, so we crammed as much in as possible that morning before heading home.
We took a tour to the bottom of the falls. They provided ponchos, but they didn’t do very well if you still insisted on getting as close to the falls as you could. The spray from the bottom of the falls was unreal. I can’t imagine how powerful it would be to actually be directly under the falls.
Beautiful rainbow at the base of the falls.
Next we headed over to the “Maid of the Mist” Boat Tour.
The passes we had bought included the walking tours, the Maid of the Mist and the Aquarium, so after the boat ride we stopped by the aquarium before heading to lunch. It was a really small aquarium, but the seal show made it worth going. It was really good. One of the better ones I’ve seen.
After a very busy morning, we headed to lunch and then off to the Airport to drop off Lloyd and Sherry. We said our good byes and back into the car we went for our long drive back home.
We arrived home late and tired but it was a really nice vacation and we had a great time. It was nice to get away for a bit. But as always…its nice to be back home.
