Family Vacation – Part 1 – PA and Maine

We took our family vacation this past week. We had a very busy schedule and several miles to travel but onward we went. We rented a big SUV so we would have more room and also because we would be meeting up with Trevor’s Dad and Stepmom in Boston. Having a bigger vehicle meant that we could all ride together while touring Boston.

Our first stop was Pennsylvania. As usual when we visit PA, we went to Sight and Sound Theater. This time we saw “Jesus”. It was really good. A lot of people said it was the best one yet. I’m not sure. It was really good, as all of them have been so far, but I can’t say if it was my favorite or not.

Then we headed to our hotel for the night. Saturday we spend the day with friends playing minigolf, eating ice cream and just hanging out.

Sunday morning, Trevor preached for Bro. David S. and then we enjoyed some more fellowship over lunch before heading to our next destination – Boston.

We met up with Lloyd and Sherry at a rental house in Boston Sunday night. They were joining us for the rest of the trip. Having the rental house instead of a hotel made the stay a lot more pleasant. We had plenty of room, access to the kitchen, (which meant we didn’t have to eat out for every meal) and access to the washer and dryer. That was really nice towards the middle of the week when you started running out of clothes. haha. Monday morning we headed up to Maine for the day. We had planned on visiting Maine one day during our trip and looking at the weather, Monday seemed to be the best day. This would leave the rest of the week for Boston touring.

The Beach….it was freezing! and very windy. But it was still pretty to see.

Eating at “The Maine Diner”. Trevor saw this place on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and decided we should try it. It was amazing! They have the best blueberry muffins I have ever eaten. I really wanted to take a box back to the house with us for breakfast the next day but they didn’t have extra to sell. Zion said the seafood chowder was the best he’s ever had. I have to admit, it was pretty tasty. And of course Trevor had to have his picture taken with “Guy”.

More pics from Maine.

It was so much fun looking at the lighthouses. They are just beautiful. We also walked around the shops in Kenebunkport, shared some awesome ice cream at Fielder’s Choice and then headed back to the house for some rest.

To be continued…
