Fall Fellowship

A couple of weeks ago, I decided I wanted to have some people over and just enjoy the wonderful Fall season, before it got to cold.  So everyone brought a fallish side dish or dessert and I made Chicken and Dumplings, Deer Stew , Zucchine bread, carmal apples and Apple Cider.

We borrowed some Corn Hole Boards from some of Trevor’s co-workers and had some games for the kids.  Over all we  just have a good ole time.

Most of the kids rolled the pumpkins like they were supposed to, for the “Pumpkin Rolling Game”, but Glorianna decided she wanted to kick hers instead.  Needless to say it ended up cracked, later that day.  Oh well.  I let Zion dissect it later, so it wasn’t a total loss.

Hugo and Sharon have some Corn Hole Fun.

Isaiah gets ready to jump into the huge hay pile.  This was the most thrilling part of the day, for the kids.

Can you tell Zion enjoyed himself?

Angel takes her turn.

Glorianna had a blast!

More pumpkin rolling.

Towards the end of the evening, we had a small bon fire, but the neighbor lady (who lives alone and is in her mid 80’s) was really worried about us starting things on fire, because it was so dry hear lately, so even tho we had the fire in our “fire pit”, we figured we had better put it out before she called the fire department on us.  We let the kids roast a few marshmellows before drowing it with a bucket of water.

Over all it was a very fun day.  We got to spend several hours fellowshipping with some friends from church as well as some visitors from Norway.

Here are the kids digging for toys in the haystack.  This is what we used the hay for, before the kids decieded to jump into it.  Once all of the toys were found, it was nice to see them coming up with fun things to do, all on their own.

And here are some pictures of the yummy food we got to enjoy all afternoon and evening.

Yes, these are homemade.  That is why they aren’t “perfect”.  But they still tasted good.  My favorite fall treat!  Well one of them anyway.
