Summer vacation has come to an end. We are starting school on Monday, Fall Soccer has begun and there are several preaching/out of town trips planned for this fall. It’s going to be another busy year. So we wanted to end with a bang.
Trevor and I also celebrated our anniversary a week early. We will hit 18 years on Aug. 12th, but we knew we wouldn’t be able to go out that weekend because of our already busy schedule. So Trevor took off work last Friday and we spent the day together. Just us. No kids. Ahhh. We headed to Kentucky to do some canoeing. That was a lot of fun.
Then we went out to eat at this little “podunk” diner in the town of Midway, KY called “Wallace Station”, that Trevor has seen on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and wanted to give it a try. It was an old little Diner that I normally would never has stopped at but it turned out to be really good. Trevor has the burger that Guy tried on the show and it was amazing. I just has a turkey club but it was pretty good too.
After that we walked around Midway and looked at some of the shops, before heading home. It was a really nice day. Saturday we took the kids with us on part two of our celebration and went to lunch at yet another “Triple D” Diner. This one was Metro Diner in Louisville. It was amazing! The food was really good.
Then we ended the day by heading to the Stephen Foster Amphitheater to see “Mary Poppins.”
That was a lot of fun. We love theater and this presentation was great! It was a really nice way to celebrate our anniversary and also to end summer.
