Easter–South Carolina Trip

The Thursday before Easter, began our trip to South Carolina. It was a long drive, expecially since we couldn’t leave until Trevor got off of work, and we arrived at our destination around 2 am, but we got to sleep in a bit on Friday, so it was all good. Marie R. served us an awesome breakfast (as always) Friday morning and then we headed to the nearby Children’s Museum. The kids had a blast.

Azariah the Super “Recycling” Hero

Glorianna learns to milk a cow. She found this very “gross”. She said she never wants to milk a real cow. HA!

Planting her very own garden.

The middle of the museum had a 2 story climbing thing that the kids found very cool.

Trying to lift their own weight. They all did very good at this. Trevor even tried it and had success.

Azariah learns to drive a race car.

After arriving back at our place of abode, we were treated, once again, to an awesome supper. The “R” family just know how to make us feel right at home. They are awesome people!! I pray the Lord blesses them greatly.

Saturday morning, Trevor, Azariah, Marie R. and several people from the church, met up at Table Rock State Park, to do some hiking. Trevor has been wanting to hike up to Table Rock, so Marie got a group together to do so. I decided not to go this time. I have been having a bit of trouble with my ankle and was afraid the hike would make it worse. Azariah really wanted to go, tho, so he tagged along and did a great job. He made it all the way up and down without complaining. (Its an 8 mile round trip hike).

While the gang was hiking, Sis R and I took Zion and Glorianna to the park to play. When we left the park we went to a local ice cream shop for “build your own flavor” ice cream and a game of putt putt golf. We ended the day with a nice relaxing afternoon at the house.

Easter Sunday Morning, Trevor preached a very powerful sermon on “Separation”.

Sunday Night, Trevor preached on “Don’t let the Resurrection be in vain”. The Lord blessed us once again.

Marie sang “Because He Lives”, on Sunday Night. She did a wonderful job and it was truly a blessing.

Fellowship at the house in between services was also a great time. It was nice to be able to eat and talk while the kids just played. We didn’t have to worry about them being too loud or destroying a restaurant.

Monday morning, we packed up and headed back home. We really didn’t want to leave. The weekend went by way to fast. We just love our “southern family.” It’s always hard to leave when we visit with them. Oh for the time when we will never have to say good bye again.

We made a stop at “Cherokee, North Carolina”, on the way back. They have a nice museum that we had been wanting to see anyway. There were a lot of interesting facts and we learning a lot.

We arrived back in Louisville around 8 pm, just in time to see the heavy downpour. Apparently it rained quite a bit and quite heavily, the whole time we were gone. So we got to enjoy the wonderful Sunshine and warmth of the south, all weekend, only to get a taste of what the “home folk” had, when we returned.

It’s at this part of the post Trevor takes over and adds a few pictures from his phone and comments:

Here’s the part of the trip where we fight over the last piece of Cheesecake Goodness:

And then go to my post and read about the hike to Table Rock.
