Easter

“Young preacher, get into the field; stay into the harness. All you young preachers and things, don’t you set around. Don’t you just set and do nothing. Get out yonder and win a soul. Do something. Get on; get moving. Don’t stop, young preacher over there.” 60-0522E ADOPTION.4_JEFFERSONVILLE.IN

And so off we go again. I love it when the whole family gets to tag along on one of Trevor’s preaching trips. After only being home a week, after being in PA, off we head to South Carolina for Easter weekend. Bro. Luke G. had invited Trevor out. What a wonderful weekend it was.

We left home on Friday, arriving out our usual place of abode when staying in SC (Our “second home” as we like to call it) about 7 pm. We were welcomed with open arms and home made pizza. Yumm!!

Saturday was our one day off. So we decided to do some hiking with the local Believers. What a hike it was. We went to Long Creek Falls. We knew from the discripion online, that the hike would be pretty moderate, but that you had to leave the path and hike down a some whatly steep decline to get to the falls. No problem. We’ve done hard hikes before. This should be a breeze. HA HA!! Or so we thought. Somehow, even tho a few of the people with us said they had done this hike before, we ended up leaving the path too early and headed down what we thought was the steep decline. Boy was it indeed a steep decline. We were on the wrong “path” down. Sliding on sticks, mud, dirt and hanging onto nearby trees, praying we wouldn’t fall, we slowly made our way down. That was probably the roughest path I’ve ever been on. But then again…it wasn’t really a path at all.

Once we made it safely to the bottom, we realized our mistake. We still had a little ways to go before we even got to the falls. So we hiked and climbed and “bushwacked” our way across the rocks and trees along the side of the river, until we finally reached the falls. What a beautiful sight to behold. All of the “mistakes” forgotten, we had a wonderful time chatting with the other Believers, eating a picnic lunch and watching the beautiful falls. A few of the kids decided to go wading. Brrr…That water is cold, so there was no way I was going to get wet. Trevor fell in up to his knees trying to help one of the smaller children who had actually fallen in trying to cross the rocks. I hope the poor boy didn’t end up catching a cold.

Over all it was a wonderful time. Once we discovered the “right path” the hike back up to the trail was much easier. It was steep, but there were no rocks and mud for us to keep slipping on. This one was an actual path with steps. Much better!

Our whole group. The picture is really fuzzy, but we weren’t able to get another one.

We headed back home and after everyone had cleaned up, we enjoyed a wonderful supper and dessert on the back porch.

There were 3 services on Easter Sunday. A 6:45 Sunrise Service, A 10am Morning Service and a 6pm Evening service, so it was going to be a really busy day.

Trevor spoke for the Sunrise service. He delivered a wonderful message called “Rest vs. Rebellian”. We had to hurry back to the house after this service, grab breakfast and head back to church for the regular morning service.

Bro. David M. from Arkansas spoke for the 10am service.

Trevor spoke again for the evening service. He preached on “Think Right-Eternity on Your Mind”. It started off as more of a teaching kind of talk, but then it just seemed that the Spirit hit and BAM! I’ve never seen Trevor preach so hard before. But it was very good.

We all sang a special right before Trevor started preaching. We sang “Our God is Mighty to Save”. I hope it was a blessing. We’ve only done this song one other time and that was in PA. But we enjoyed singing for the Lord.

The Lord blessed us with 3 very wonderful services. It was a truely wonderful weekend. We returned home yesterday (monday) evening.

Trevor is a bit worn out and has a lot of conjestion going on. So keep him in your prayers.
