December – Christmas Festivities Part One

3 years ago we went to Nashville for the day and visited the Opryland Hotel to see their “ICE” exhibit. It was amazing. So when I found out that they were doing it again this year and the theme was “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, of course I wanted to go. So we picked a day that worked for all of us and we headed to Nashville on Dec. 13. The ICE room is always freezing cold. They keep it at 9* and you have to wear these thick blue parkas in order to go inside. But it was so much fun and so cool to see.(No pun intended)

Charlie Brown’s smile was falling off. Of course it would happen to Charlie Brown. haha

I loved that all the songs from the cartoon were playing through the tour.

This guy was showing us how the ice was sculpted.

This part had the audio of Linus quoting the Christmas Story for the Gospel of Luke.

This room was super cool. All of the characters were in a circle “singing” the song from the end of the cartoon.

And the final room was a HUGE Nativity with music and narration. So beautiful.

After leaving the ICE rooms, we walked around the hotel looking at Christmas lights and decorations.

After walking around for about an hour, we grabbed some supper and then headed home. We would have loved to have stayed longer to see all of the outside lights after dark and the fountain all lite up, but we had a long drive back home and church the next morning, so we just headed home. It was a very fun filled day.
