Christmas Part 5 – Christmas Day

This is the last Christmas post. I promise.

Trevor found a really good deal on some hammocks. The kids have been wanting one, so we went ahead and picked up one for each of them.

The kids had to buy each other something this year. Glorianna got Azariah a new history comic book to add to his collection. And some sour patch kids candy.

Zion got Glorianna a game she had been wanting.

Azariah got Zion a Piano Guys music album. It was downloadable so he had to check his phone to find it.

I also come a music cd I wanted. Mom upside down spells Wow. haha

And a fitbit watch.

Trevor got a drill set he has been wanting.

Glorianna got a new shawl.

And her biggest surprise…. a new art desk. She is our little artist. She just loves to draw. She had asked for a desk but wasnt really expecting to get one. So she was really happy. We hid it in the van and she unwrapped a box with a note in it telling her where her “real” present was.

And for the boys….about 5 months ago we had someone offer us two phones for a great price. They had upgraded theirs and no longer wanted these. So we jumped on that and had the boys Christmas presents done. They were not expecting it at all. The scripture verse on their presents still didn’t give it away. So needless to say, they were totally surprised. Azariah was in shock for about 30 minutes…just staring at it. haha.

One last note…. Since it’s official now….

I’ve been helping out at church, in Sunday School every now and then, over the last year. Just when the current teachers need extra help. But about 4 months ago Bro. Nathan asked me if I’d be interested in taking on the role of a full time Sunday School teacher. The classes are growing and he’s wanting to add an extra Sunday School room and would need another teacher for that. So after praying about it and talking it over with Trevor, I accepted. It’s been on the back shelf ever since and so I’ve kept it quiet. But he announced it from the pulpit last week and so now I guess you can say, it’s official. As soon as the new room gets fixed up, I’m going to be the new Sunday School Teacher at Church of the Open Door. I’m so excited. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for several years but never really expected it to happen.

So for Christmas this year, Bro. Nathan gave anyone who was working/helping at the church a present as a thank you.

And Trevor’s. Because not only is he a minister, but he is also a teacher of the Word.

Everyone’s cup was personalized to their position. Sunday School teachers, Ministers, Deacons, Janitors, Trustees, and Musicians. Some had more than one position so they had more than one #. It was a very nice surprise.

Enjoying the cheesecake that Glorianna made. Yummy. Shes turning into quite a good baker/cook. I have trained her well.

It has been a very busy Christmas Break but it has been fun. We’ve really enjoyed spending time with our friends and our family.
