Christmas 2023

After Trevor and I got home from Bequia, it was time to start planning for Christmas. We were going to have an early Christmas because Camille was going to come spend Christmas with us, but she also needed to be back home for her own family Christmas.

Friday, Dec. 22, we went to Charlestown to see the lights. We do this every year and it’s a nice little family tradition that doesn’t cost us a thing.

Saturday, Dec. 23 was our “family Christmas”. We had a nice breakfast, enjoyed our Christmas Devotion and then the kids opened their presents. I don’t get pictures of everything, I’m too busy enjoying the moment, but here’s a few of the present opening.

My kids got me some new knives and a panini press. So excited to use these.

More games….we are always buying games. We can’t help it. It’s an addition. haha. But we do love to play games.

My parents, Samuel and Lily, came over to my house for lunch. We had a lot of amazing food and enjoying spending some time together as a family.

Lily loved her new bear from Glorianna.

Trevor and I decided to get each other new rings, since mine was broken and his had a crack. I really hated wearing the cheap silicone ring I’d been wearing. Trevor found an amazing black Friday deal on these, so we went ahead a got them. I love them!!!

Sunday morning, Dec. 24, we had a wonderful Christmas Service at Church. My sunday school class recited a couple of scriptures and a poem. They did a really good job. Service was great and we had a wonderful lunch afterwards. Zion and Camille headed up to her house after lunch. He wanted to spend Christmas Day at her house as well. There was no service that evening, so we spent the afternoon playing games and enjoying some much needed family time.

Wed – Sat, Dec. 27-30, was Winter Youth Retreat in Michigan and all 3 kids were going. So Wednesday morning, Glorianna and Azariah head up to Camille’s house to pick up her and Zion. Then they headed on to WYR. They loved the services, and the fellowship. They made new friends and got reacquainted with old ones. They said they’d love to go again next year.

While the kids were gone, Trevor and I got to enjoy some down time. This was much needed. We had all been so busy the last few months that it was nice to have a week off to have nothing going on. We did take one day to go op to Elizabethtown, KY to do some thrift store shopping, try a new Thai restaurant that Trevor had been hearing about and then took a drive through their park to see the Christmas lights. Even though it was a cold and rainy day, it was still very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry. It’s hard to take decent pictures from the car.

It was a wonderful December and I couldn’t be more thankful for all that God has done for us this year. God bless you all!
