Sunday, December 3rd. There was a morning service today, but no evening service. Trevor preached and we had a wonderful service.
Here’s the church. They are still working on it and are really hoping to have the lower level complete in about a year. They want to add a fellowship hall, a couple of bedrooms for visiting ministers and a kitchen. It will be really nice when they are done.
Concrete blocks waiting to be used for the church building.
After service, the sisters once again came over to the villa and made lunch for us. We spent the majority of the afternoon/evening at the villa visiting with the saints. Because there is no AC, if you leave open the front door and the back door, you will get a nice breeze from the ocean blowing through and that helps a lot. It’s still hot, but the breeze keeps it from being too stuffy. There aren’t any screen doors or screens on the windows, so when they are open, they are just open. So whenever someone would drop by for a visit, they would just walk in. This took me a bit to get used to, but they are all so sweet and kind that it really didn’t feel like they were intruding. It just began to feel like family was hanging around.
Several of the young people had never played UNO before, so Aaron and Becah did a great job teaching them how to play. The young sisters loved it. There was so much laughter and everyone was having a great time together.
We decided to take some pictures with us all dressed up. The water really is that blue. It’s so beautiful. I would sit out on the back patio, every morning and just look out over the ocean.
We also had our picture taken with the whole church. This is the majority of the believers on the island. I think there were only a few missing. If you think of it, say a prayer for them. It’s really hard on the young people. Most of them at the church are related so it’s hard on them when they start wanting to get married. They have to travel to the US or to other islands to find other believers their own age. But they love the Lord and this Message and they do the best they can. God bless them abundantly.

Monday, December 4. Trevor and I took a nice early morning walk along the beach. After breakfast, we all decided to go snorkeling again. We went to a different part of the island and I swam out a lot further this time. I saw a lobster and some really amazing fish and other sea creatures. I wore myself out swimming back to shore, because I didn’t just float and take my time. I was tired and just wanted to get back to shore. So I decided I was done for the day. No more snorkeling for me. I just hung around the beach until everyone else was finished. But it was still a good time.
We headed back to the house afterwards, had lunch and then rested up before service that evening. Bro Stephen preached again and did an amazing job. I think this was the best one I’ve heard of his so far. It really spoke to a lot of hearts.

Tuesday, December 5. Today Bro Chris took us to the turtle sanctuary. This is where they take the turtle eggs, let them hatch here, raise the turtles for several years and then release them back into the ocean. Because the sea turtles are endangered, they are really hoping that this will help keep them around for a little longer.
This is the whaling island. Bequia still hunts whales and they do it the old fashioned way. With harpoons. Once they capture the whale, they bring it to this island to butcher. They do not waste any of the whale. They use all of it. They are allowed two whales a year, and had already gotten both of them, so we did not get to see any of this. But it was still pretty amazing to think about.
These were pumpkin fritters. They were so good.
Everyone but me went for one final snorkeling adventure. I just enjoying hanging out on the back patio, chatting with one of the sisters from church and listening to the ocean.
This was our last night night here and our last service. Trevor preached a wonderful message and there was a short prayer line afterwards.
Supper that night was pizza! What a surprise and what a nice treat. I wasn’t brave enough to try the pizza with fish on it, I just ate the bacon pizza.
It’s our last night here. Tomorrow begins our journey home. Let’s hope it’s much smoother than our journey here.
