Day 10 – Thursday, January 9th
Today was mostly going to be a chill day. It was our last day in Belgium. We slept in a bit and then had breakfast with our hosts then we packed up our stuff. Bro David picked us up around noon. We loaded up his car because we would not be coming back to this house. We said goodbye to our hosts, and then went to lunch at this cute little restaurant in the town of Nazareth.
Bro David also took us by his church so we could see it. They had packed up all of their musical instruments and video equipment for the camp so they still hadn’t been able to get it all back together yet. But it was still really nice to see his church.
Trevor wishing he was preaching here. haha
After lunch we headed to Bro David’s sister’s house for coffee, dessert, supper and fellowship. They are all such sweet people. We met a lot of wonderful people while we were in Belgium. It’s so nice to meet fellow believers from different parts of the world.
Around 7 we headed to Leah and Simeon’s house for more fellowship. They were having a good bye party for one of the campers who was going back to Canada. A lot of the Believers were there so it was nice to say some final goodbyes to them as well.
Bro David then drove us to the hotel next to the airport in Brussels where we stayed for the night. We needed to be at the airport fairly early so it was better for everyone for us to just stay at the hotel.
Day 11 – Friday, January 10th.
Homeward bound. After breakfast at the hotel, we packed up and grabbed a shuttle to the airport. 3 flights, then home.
Our first stop over was in Dublin, Ireland. Trevor says I can’t count it as being in Ireland since I didn’t leave the airport. Oh well.
From there we flew to Philadelphia and then on to Louisville.
They have this giant Liberty Bell in Philly that we had taken our picture with a couple of years ago while passing through, so we had to take one this time around as well.
All of the flights went well and we had no issues or delays. We were a bit worried about arriving in Louisville because of the snow that was coming, but all went well and we were very happy to finally be home after 22 hours of traveling.

Some final thoughts. I loved Belgium. It was so beautiful. There were so many old buildings and some of the roads were still the old cobblestone. There were so many shops and restaurants we wanted to visit but time just would not allow it. I did find myself some really nice leather boots though and I love them.
I would go back to Belgium again. But maybe next time we go it can be in the spring or summer. haha.
Would I go back to Paris again? Honestly, no. I know that hurts most of the population to hear me say that, but I’m just not a big fancy city girl. I don’t like big cities. I prefer smaller towns. Paris had some amazing sites, but as a city to visit overall, it’s too big and crowded. I’m very happy and feel blessed to have had the opportunity to go and I’m very thankful, but I would not go again by choice. The best part of Paris was being able to spend it with our good friends and tour around with them. We will miss them. They are so much fun.
So I survived my second overseas trip. This one was by far the longest I’ve ever been gone. It pushed my limits and by day 8 I was so ready to come home. But there were a lot of people praying for me and I could feel those prayers. The jet lag wasn’t as bad as it could have been, for which I’m thankful, and I made lots of new friends. I’m still a bit tired after being home for 5 days but I’m sure I will return to my own time zone in another day or two.
What a way to begin the new year. I can’t wait to see what else God has in store for us.
