April marked the 150th anniversary of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. A few of us homeschool moms thought it would be a cool idea to do a mini co-op on this subject. So we set aside 4 days during the month of April to study this. I reserved the library meeting room for this and it worked out great. The kids heard stories, learned cool new facts, did projects, learned how to make a social call like they did in the olden days, made their own calling cards and other such fun stuff. Frazier Museum was also doing a skit on the assassination, so we all met there one evening to watch it. It was awesome. I really want to do this kind of thing again so I’m going to start writing down ideas for future co-ops.
I forgot to take pictures of the very last class where the kids were practicing making a social call, but here’s some pictures of the other classes.
