Last Monday we headed to Missouri for our fall break/family vacation.
We were meeting up with Trevor’s dad and stepmom for a few days of fun and relaxation. We arrived at the hotel around 6pm and enjoyed a lovely supper together while getting reacquainted. We ate at Lambert’s. This place is famous for its “tossed rolls”. Yes, they really toss rolls at you if you ask for one.
Glorianna caught one! These are some of the best rolls I’ve ever eaten. And they were still warm!
They serve your food to you in a big pan. That was cool and different. The portions are really good sized, too. Plus they come around with sides that you can try at no extra cost. Its a bit spendy tho, so its not a restaurant I’d go to very often.
Tuesday morning we got up early, had breakfast and went to Dogwood Park for a Segway tour. This was a first time for all of us (except Lloyd and Sherry). It was a blast.
After lunch we went to Sight and Sound Theater. We got to go on the back stage tour. That was awesome! Our tour guide was one of the actors in the play. He was “back up” Moses, but today he played a couple of different characters. Then we saw the play of Moses.
Zion with Jacob, our tour guide.
Flo the Donkey. Sometimes she plays a zebra. ha ha
Trevor decided to take a selfie with Theo
Lloyd and Sherry in front of one of the props.
Wednesday morning Sherry, Zion and I went shopping at the local outlet malls. Yes Zion came with us. Trevor, Azariah, Glorianna and Lloyd chose to go hiking and Zion didnt want to go. So his only other option was to go shopping with the ladies. haha. But I think he had a good time. He came back with new shirts and ties. heehee
Later that day, we played some mini golf at Pirates cove. That was a lot of fun.
That evening we went to see a really cool fountain that was lit up. They also played music and did some cool timed sprays on the fountain. It was very pretty to see.
Thursday we went to the IMAX. It was in 3-D. That was amazing. It was the first time I’ve seen one in 3-D.
We headed back to the hotel after that for lunch. Lloyd and Sherry had to leave for home after lunch, but we were able to stay another night. That afternoon we played minigolf for the second time. We got half off this time for coming back.
Pretty butterfly on a flower I saw at the mini golf course.
We also did an “escape room.” The boys and Trevor had done one of these back during the summer for Zion’s birthday but this was a first for Glorianna and I. It was fun, exciting, and a little bit stressful. We managed to finish in 57 minutes. You only get an hour to finish, so we made it! WOO HOO!!
Friday we checked out of the hotel and started on our way home. We stopped off in St. Louis for a bit to see the Arch. Unfortunately there was a ton of construction and we couldn’t get to the gift shop or any closer than you see in the pictures. But it was still nice to see.
We arrived home Friday night around 11:45. It was a good trip and it was nice to get away.
