I realized that I have never actually taken the time to write down Glorianna’s testimony.  It’s now been a year, so in honor of her “anniversary”, I will relay the story of God’s Mercy and Love.
 September 2009.
Kids often complain with stomach aches. This is a normal occurance. So when Glorianna started complaining about her stomach hurting, but had nothing else wrong with her, I didn’t really thing much about it. She didn’t really cry about it, just said it hurt every now and then. Her appitite had dropped a little, but not really enough to cause me concern. This went on for about 4 days. (Tuesday – Friday). So on Friday morning, I called the doctor and decided to take her in. i thought maybe she was having “poop issues” and that might have been the reason her stomach hurt. The doctor couldn’t find anything wrong. They did an x-ray, and exam but found nothing. Her doctor told me to keep an eye on her and if she got any worse to bring her back. There was no fever, no throwing up or anything unusual outside of occasional stomach pain. Glorianna, for the most part, seemed like a normal kid.
We went to church on Sunday morning, and I noticed after church that Glorianna had started to run a fever. When we got back home, I gave her some motrin, and stayed home from church that evening, so I could keep an eye on her. She didn’t want to eat anything and started complaining with a stomach ache again. It’s Sunday night and the doctor’s office is closed, so I put her to bed and planned on calling the doctor the next morning.Â
Sometime during the night Glorianna woke up crying. I went in to check on her. She was burning up with fever and screaming like she was in serious pain. I gave her some more motrin and called for Trevor. We didnt’ really know what else to do for her. She really seemed to be in a lot of pain. Trevor goes to the living room and grabs our bottle of Annointing Oil. We annointed Glorianna with oil and prayed for her. We really didnt’ want to take her in to the ER, so we just put our trust in the Lord.  Not too long after we annointed her with oil and prayed for her, she calmed down and went to sleep. Little did we know, at that time, that the Lord went to work immediatly answering our prayer.
The next morning, after she woke up, she was still complaining with her stomach hurting and was still running a fever, but not as badly. I asked her to show me where her tummy hurt and she pointed to her right side. I just barely touched it, and she about crumbled onto the floor, in pain. My suspecisions seemed to be true. It must be her appendix.  I called the doctor and was able to get Glorianna in almost immediatly. I dropped my boys off with my mom, and headed to the doctor.Â
Dr. L didn’t have to do much, before she informed me that it was indeed her appendix and she was going to send us over to Kosiar Children’s Hospital. I called Trevor (who had went into work) and he headed home, then off to Kosair’s we went.Â
I won’t go into the details of the long 6 hour wait we had or the problems we had trying to get a room or the little, but many, annoiances we had to deal with. That would take a while. So I’ll just skip ahead several hours.Â
Once a CAT Scan was done, they found out that Glorianna’s appendix had already burst, and wanted to do surgery immediatly. My poor baby. The “prep surgery” doctor gave her some “calming ” medicine through her IV. Within a matter of seconds, she was completly relaxed and smiling away. It was funny and sad at the same time. I tried really hard not to cry as they wheeled her off into the operating room.Â
Off to the waiting room, Trevor and I go. The doctor had said that the surgery should only take about 40 mins but with the prepping for surgery, the surgery, the observation and returning her to her room stuff , we had a little less then 2 hours to wait.
Thankfully we had the entire waiting room to ourselves.   We took that time to get some food, and make a ton of phone calls. Then we prayed some more.Â
When the surgery was over, the doctor came into the waiting room to talk to us. Here is where the story takes a huge turn. Normally when someone’s appendix bursts, there are oodles of problems, some even resulting in death. A ruptured appendix is not something to play around with.Â
As we are listening to the doctor tell us how well the surgery went and the amazing discovery she found inside of Glorianna, both Trevor and I just look at each other and smile.Â
According to the doctor, the infection that comes from a burst appendix, had managed to “contain itself” in one area and had “somehow” created a fatty wall around that area. This means that the infection did not spread throughout her body and infect other areas. The doctor said she had examinined all of the surrounding areas and that everything was fine. There was not infection anywhere else and they were able to remove it all from the area “it had contained itself in”.  The doctor was truely amazed. She said that her biggest concern and been that the infection had spread to Glorianna’s female organs which would have caused problems for her later in life. But the infection was not there.  She told us over and over that she had never seen anything like this before and was very happy about the outcome.Â
The Lord had heard our prayers, the night before, and started right away, on Glorianna’s healing. Â
Later, when we were taken to our room, the nurse who wheeled Glorianna in, was also the nurse who helped with the surgery. She proceed to tell us how amazing of a discover they had found when they opened Glorianna up. =)
We stayed in the hospital for 5 days. Glorianna recovery was very quickly. The doctors were again amazed at how fast Glorianna was healing and how fast she was up and walking around. By the time we were allowed to return home, Glorianna was about ready to tear the place apart. =)Â
With a week, you’d have never even known she had a major surgery done. It has now been 1 year, and the only reminder of the surgery is the small scar on her side.Â
 God truly is Hebrews 13:8
Had it not been for His wonderful Mery and Grace, my little girl wouldn’t be with me today, living a normal and healthy life.Â
 Praise His Holy Name!!
