So for Christmas this year I requested a fresh coat of paint on the livingroom walls. It’s been 10 years since we last painted. It was long overdue. Well Trevor decided to go all out…
Here’s our before pictures. They’re not very clear, but you should get the idea anyway. The only wall not pictured is the wall by the stairs which had the piano on it.
And here are some “in process” pictures.
Trying to decide what paint to use.
Trevor decided he wanted to add crown molding and get new trim. Not just paint the old trim.
And some final “after” pictures.
Wall where piano was now has new bookshelves.
Our “accent” wall is a shade darker than the other walls. Its a dark grey and the other walls are a light grey. This is also our family wall.
New end tables, lamps and chairs. We never had enough places to sit in our livingroom anyway.
This chair is actually grey…not sure why it looks brown in the picture. We accented with orange (as Im sure you can tell on the family wall) so I made a couple orange throw pillows just for fun.
My favorite chair. I love it! This is my new spot to sit in the livingroom. =)
We also added a coat rack. Now I don’t have coats slung on chairs or the kitchen floor.
Here’s an overview…well as best as I can get anyway. It’s hard to get a full shot but hopefully its enough to give you the idea.
It was a lot longer of a project than we originally thought it would be. It took us 5 days. 5 long hard days. We also painted the hallway so it wouldn’t be an ugly eyesore. But now that it’s done, I’m so happy with the way it turned out.
