What’s been happening

Since my last post things have picked up quite a bit. School is going well. Im trying to keep on top of things so we can finish on time. We started about 2 weeks later than we normally do, and have taken more days off than originally planed so Ive been trying to play catch up during the slower month of January. Now that it’s February, homeschool gym days and creations classes have started up again making the schedule more full. But the kids enjoy going so I make do.

My birthday has come and gone with out much of a “big to do”. It happened to fall on the first Saturday of the month, which was also the first QT (at the gym) of this year, so with all 3 kids gone, I had a really quiet morning. After our own QT was over, Trevor and I went out for breakfast. We invited my dad to come along and it was a really enjoyable morning. After breakfast Trevor and I did some shopping and then went to pick up the kids from the gym. My Dad agreed to watch the kids after the gym was over, so Trevor and I headed over to Louisville to check out all of the “natural food” stores. I hate going to Louisville so the only time I go is if someone takes me or I absolutely HAVE to go. I do wish there were a Lucky’s or a Whole Foods Market on this side of the river. There were really cool stores. I wasn’t really all that impressed with Trader Joe’s. It was a lot smaller than the other stores and didn’t really have much of a selection. So that one is defiantly not worth the trip to a crazy part of town. We were going to go to the Cheesecake factory for a late lunch since we were already in Louisville and we had a gift card for there. But it was insanely crowded and they told us we’d have at least a 30 minute wait. We started to wait but after about 20 minutes I really wanted to go. It was so hot in there and with the crowd of people I was quickly wilting. So we headed back home where we grilled out instead and spent the rest of the evening playing games. All in all it was a good day.

Another little tidbit….

Azariah now has a shiny new smile.

First day in braces. - AnnaMay

He had to get braces. We knew it was coming. He’s had some major dental work going on for about 6 months, but we just didn’t expect it so soon. Thought maybe it would be another month from now. But the dentist didn’t really see the need to keep post-poneing it. He’s doing really well with them. He is still strugging with eating because of his teeth being sore, but he’s doing better than I thought he would. He’s such a trooper.

The weather here is so crazy…we never really know what to expect. It was in the 50’s over the weekend and today it’s snowing. Welcome to southern Indiana!

Until next time…
