She’s how old??

I think my daughter must truly be an adult trapped in a 4 year old body. She’s way to smart to be only 4. I’m not talking “knowing her ABC’s and writing her name” kind of smart. I’m talking “wit” and “making mommy eat her words” kind of smart.

Example:

I’ve been playing around with the kids a lot lately and telling them to stop growing up. They need to stay little. Of course they all think this is funny and explain to me how impossible that is. That doesn’t stop me from saying it anyway.

So there I was, one weekday afternoon, rocking Glorianna in the rocking chair.

Mommy : “Don’t grow up Glorianna. I want you to be my baby forever.”

Glorianna laughs. “I’m not a baby.”

Mommy : “But I want you to be a baby. So I can rock you and cuddle you. If you grow up, I won’t have a baby anymore.”

More giggling from Glorianna.

…….

A few days later, while Glorianna is supposed to be eating her supper…

Mommy : “Glorianna. You need to eat. Your foods getting cold.”

Glorianna : “I want you to feed me.”

Mommy : “You’re a big girl. You can feed yourself.”

Glorianna (just as serious as can be) : “But I can’t be a big girl and feed myself. You want me to be a baby.”

…………..

She’s how old again?? How did she even come up with that kind of “witty” reply?

Sigh….
