Zion’s birthday party

Zion turns twelve tomorrow! TWELVE!!! Man do I feel old. 12 years ago I was totally clueless on the ways of motherhood. But holding my firstborn after hours of hard and exhausting labor, brought great joy to my life. And a feeling of fulfillment. My lifelong dream of becoming a wife and mother was finally coming to pass.

Zion is quiet the boy. He’s smart, funny, sometimes sneaky, stubborn, and yet tender hearted. He makes friends with everyone and loves to laugh…and make others laugh.

For his party this year he wanted a pool party. Again. Not that I mind. It makes things easy. So we invited a few friends, cooked up some hot dogs, had cake and the boys had a grand ole time.

Zion has inherited his grandpa Gene’s love for fishing. So he was quite happy indeed to receive so e fishing stuff from his friend Isaiah.

Last Sunday, after church, Trevor decided to take Zion to this burger place in Louisville, that’s supposed to have the best burgers in the Louisville area. Trevor says its the best burger he has ever eaten. Zion agrees. I wasn’t impressed. It wasn’t bad. But I wouldn’t say it was the best I’ve ever had. Oh well. Zion loved it and that’s what matters, right.
