P.E.I. Trip – Part Four

Wednesday, August 27:

It was our last day on the island. After packing up and eating breakfast, we checked out of our air b&b and headed into Cavendish. The last AGG thing we were going to do was to see a play of “Anne and Gilbert, The Musical”. It was a lot of fun. It was the story of Anne and Gilbert in their teen years and into collage, but it had a little bit of a different twist, while still sticking with the general story line. The songs were fun and I still sing parts of them when they pop into my head.

After the play, we walked around Cavendish for a bit, grabbed some lunch and then began our long drive back to Bangor, ME.

As I had mentioned in a previous post, PEI is known for their potatoes. So much so, that when you cross the boarder back into the U.S., the man at the boarder asks if you brought back any potatoes from PEI. haha. It was pretty funny.

There really wasn’t much to see on the drive, but we did get blessed with a beautiful sunset. I wish I could have captured the vibrant colors with my camera.

We checked into our hotel for the night and fell asleep exchanging favorite parts of the trip.

Thursday, August 28

The rest of the trip isn’t going to be that exciting, but it’s the end of the trip story, so here we go.

We packed up once again, ate some breakfast at the local Chic-Fil-A and checked out of the hotel.

It was still a few hours before we had to be at the airport, so we went to a nearby park and took a nice walk. We still has some time to kill, so we went to Chili’s for lunch before finally heading to the airport.

We flew from Bangor, ME, to Philadelphia, PA. We sat on the runway for about 30 minutes because of some kind of delay, but thankfully we were still able to make our connecting flight. From there we flew home, getting into Louisville, KY, about 10:30 pm. It was a long day, and it is so good to be home.

Thank you for coming along with me on this 4 part series. I hope you enjoyed the journey. I would love to go back to PEI again some day. I think everyone should have the chance to go. Even if you aren’t a fan of Anne of Green Gables, it’s still a very beautiful island and it’s so relaxing. There is so much to see. If we were to go back, I’d fly into Charlottetown, PEI, instead of Maine, and save myself the long drive. I’d also get a rental house by the sea instead of one so far out from everything. We really enjoyed being out in the middle of nowhere, under the beautiful stars and such, but with it being at least an hour drive to most things, it would have been a little nicer to have stayed closer to town.

Overall, this was an amazing trip and I’m so thankful and blessed to have been able to experience it.
