Florida Trip Part One — West Palm Beach

The next several posts are going to cover our (almost) two week trip to Florida. So bare with me. Im not sure how many posts this will end up being. We were gone for 12 days, attended a play, 8 services, did some sight seeing, and had some wonderful fellowship.

SO here goes….

We left our house on Thursday, December 13th. We drove for about 10 hours, making it to Tiftan, GA, where we stayed overnight with Bro. David S. He and his mother had a wonderful supper waiting for us when we arrived, and then made us a wonderful breakfast the next morning, before we headed out. We got to fellowship with them for a few hours, and it was a nice break in the trip.

The next morning’s drive was around 6 hours, and we arrived at our destination and place of abode for the weekend, in West Palm Beach, FL.

Bro. Jack and Sis. Erica and Co, always treat us very well. We stayed at their house. There was a young people’s meeting that evening at Bro. Wesco’s church (one of the churches in the area). Trevor preached on “Will Thou Be Made Whole?”. It was a wonderful service and there was wonderful fellowship afterwards.

Saturday we went back to Bro. Wesco’s church where there was a Singing Service. After the song service the young people put on a Christmas Play. It turned out really well and we had a wondeful time.

This is the young sister that played “Mary” in the play. The donkey they made for her to ride on was attached to a rolling chair. It worked great and they sister who made it, did a wonderful job! She also did a terrific job on all of the props. I didn’t get many pictures of the actual play because I was videoing.

Here’s one of the “Town Signs”. This was for Nazerath.

After the play, there was a fellowship at one of the local “homeschool” schools, and the kids had a blast making new friends.

Sunday Morning there was a service at Bro. Jack’s church. Trevor preached “Declaration of Righteousness”. Back at the house, after service, Sis. Tina (Sister Erica’s Sister) made us a wonderful fried chicken dinner with all the trimmings. Sunday night, we went to a nearby “Haitian” church. Trevor spoke there, with an interprator, and preached on “Santified by His Glory”. I have never been to a Haitian church before, and wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was fine. Everyone was really packed in tight. =) I had a hard time following the songs that weren’t in English, but there was an interprator for most of the songs, so it helped a lot.

Monday we left West Palm Beach, for our next destination…. St. Augustine….

To be Continued…
