“Tri – It” Kids Triathlon

This past week, we did something we have never done before. We signed the kids up to compete in the local “Tri-It” Kids Triathlon. Monday thru Friday, they went to the Jeffersonville Aquatic Center, where they had class for 2 hours a day. They swam, biked and ran the appropriate mileage for their age group. This was all practice, leading up to the competition on Saturday.

Glorianna had to swim 25 yards, bike 1 mile and run 1/4 mile. She ended up placing 2nd place in her division and won a trophy. She was so excited. She had a blast and wants to do it again next year.

Azariah had to swim 50 yards, bike 1 mile and run 1/4 mile. He did well, but didn’t place in the top 5, or 10. He was 4th to last place. But I’m just glad he finished. He had a lot of fun, but isn’t sure yet if he wants to do it again next year or not.

Zion had to swim 100 ya, bike 1 mile and run a 1/2 mile. He did well, but didn’t place either. He was 2nd to last. Poor kid. But he said he had a lot of fun and wants to do it again next year.

All 3 kids received a T-Shirt and a Medal for participating. So at least they have something to show for their hard work.

The fact that all 3 kids actually finished and still had fun, makes me proud. The worked hard and didn’t quit. Glorianna winning a trophy was a bonus. I still can’t figure out why my most athletic child just happens to be my only girl. ha ha.

Here’s some pictures of the event. Trevor took some video and we’re going to try to put them all together to make a short movie clip, so stay tuned.
