Baking!!!

Ok…so I was going to blog about all the yummy baking I’ve been doing lately, and even include some recipes…but that would take a while.

So instead, I’m going to tell you what book I’ve been baking from, what recipes I’ve tried and then suggest you just order the cookbook yourself. =) ha ha

“Baking: From My Home to Yours” By Dorie Greenspan

Awesome book!! The reason I bought this book was because of the pie crust recipe in it. It is the best pie crust I have ever eaten! Honest!

We were visiting some friends in South Carolina (as we are known to do more then we probably should…ha ha) and Marie R. made an absolutly wonderful Apple Pie (which she often does…cook that is, and it’s always grand!) She had gotten the pie crust recipe for the above book. Needless to say…I decided, yet again, that I needed to add to my ever growing cookbook collection. Instead of just asking her to copy the recipe, we just bought the book and I’m so glad I did. I’ve been doing almost all of my baking from this book. I’ve tried the “Spice” Muffins…awesome! The “Blueberry Pie”…also awesome! And the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie…ok, so the Strawberry Rhubarb pie was actually my grandmother’s recipe, but only because I couldn’t find a Strawberry Pie recipe in my Baking book. But I used the “Good for almost anything, Pie Crust” recipe from the book. It truely is good for almost anything. I’ve also used that same pie crust recipe to make a Pot Pie. My kids and my husband love pot pies, and now that I have this awesome pie crust recipe, which makes the pot pies even better, I have a great way to use up leftovers. =) “Leftover Pot Pie” is a new regular at our house. Oh! And I can’t forget the yummy Peanut Butter Torte Recipe! If you are a chocolate and peanut butter lover, then you will fall in love with this pie. I can’t wait to make it again!!

There are so many recipes just screaming to be made. It’s a good thing I’ve started up my workout routine again….
