Still Waters Camp

Trevor and I had the honor and privilege of being camp chaperons at the last YF Camp. What an experience!!! I really got to know the girls in my tent and they are all sweet. There were quite a few from Quebec, Canada. They spoke French and a couple of them had a very hard time with English. But we were able to communicate with the help of the other girls who could speak both languages, so it all turned out well. I also had 2 girls from Norway in my tent. One spoke very good English and the other, not very well. But that too worked out fine.

Quiet time usually consisted of just spending time with the Lord. Reading your Bible, Praying, listening to a tape. Whichever you chose. But Saturday Morning Quiet Time we all listened to the message, “Be Certain of God”, on our owns special ipods. This was awesome. At the end of the tape, when Bro Branham asked everyone to stand up who wanted something from the Lord, it was quite the sight to see kids standing up everywhere.

Some of the girls in my tent got baptized and that was awesome. There was a total of 28 kids baptized at this camp.

Paint ball, Archery, Gun Range, Volleyball, Quiet Time, and Church. Trevor was asked to speak at the Friday night service. He did a great job and really held the attention of all of the kids.

Sunday Morning Service was probably one of the best services I have ever been in. I can’t remember when I’ve felt the presence of the Lord so strongly. It was an awesome feeling. We listened to the tape, “Door to the Heart”. If you haven’t heard it recently, I highly recommend it.

We were to do devotions each morning and evening with the girls. Sometimes I led them, and sometimes Sis. Stephanie (the other chaperon in my tent) led them. We even let our junior chaperons lead devotions one night. It was a lot of fun. We played games some nights, had some testimonies, read some scripture and quotes and whatever else we felt led to do. The last morning there, I led devotions. I read Psalm 29 which talks about the power of God’s voice. It also talks about the beauty of holiness. It really spoke to my heart and I knew it was meant to be read to the girls.

Even tho we got only about 4 hours of sleep each night, we were able to do what we needed to do. The Lord really blessed us and helped us do our job. It was such a blessing to be a part of this. Words can not express what I felt there. It was hard for us to leave.

Here’s a few pictures of me and Trevor at the camp. You can see all of the pictures at www.stillwaterscamp.org
