The End of the School Year

Well, our school year has come to a close. The kids have done awesome at school this year. They have learned a lot and had loads of fun.

Here’s a few pictures of things we have done this school year.

“Wood Burning and Art”
Zion likes doing this, but its very time consuming. He doesn’t usually finish anything in one day. He’d rather draw and paint on the wood instead. So he’s been making a lot of “presents” for the family.

“Learning about the Red Blood Cells and the White Blood Cells.” I think Glorianna will forever remember, “The Red does the work and the White will fight!”

“Inventions”

“Discovery”
I think this was a crawdad at one time. All that was left, when we discovered it, was 2 claws and a head. It was interesting to try to figure out what ate this thing.

“Frog Catching”
If I wasn’t such a softy, I’d had let the boys disect the frogs after they caught them. But the idea of actually killing the frog first, just didn’t seem right.

“Tent Making and Camping out in the Livingroom”
Yes…they actually slept all night in their tents, that they made themselves.

Zion’s favorite subject, right now, is Astromony. He has read the “Apoligia Astromony” book all the way through. There are several hands on activities and websites to do and visit, that go along with the book, so we will be working on those off and on during the summer, just for fun.

Azariah has had a bit of trouble with his “Spelling”. Poor kid. He must take after his mother. So with this in mind, he will be working on “Spelling” off and on during the summer and both boys will be working on “Math Orals”, just to keep it all fresh in their minds. After all…we homeschool, so we can. =)

Glorianna is already looking forward to starting Kidnergarden. She asks me every other day, if it’s time for school yet. She flew thru preschool and is doing very well as her sounds, letter, and numbers. If she does as well in Kidnergarden, she’ll be reading in no time.

All in all, its been a great school year. We are looking forward to a few weeks off before we start on the “extra fun stuff” for the summer.
