My Blanket Ladder, a Praise Report, and Grandma’s Tea Party

A few weeks ago I decided to do a DIY project. I’ve been wanting a blanket ladder for a long time but the prices people are asking is ridiculous. So I attempted to make my own. We had a lot of wood leftover from redoing the deck and I had leftover paint, so it wasn’t going to cost me anything to make. So I set off on my own to make the ladder. It was all going well until the drill slipped and and hit my hand. I didn’t realize the screw had went through because I saw it hit my hand and then fall to the ground. But when I looked at my hand and saw it bleeding I ran into the house to clean it. That’s when I noticed it had two holes. Not one. And then my body started going into shock. I almost passed out. I started sweating like crazy but was cold at the same time. I thought I was going to throw up. I wrapped my hand in a paper towel, Zion read Ezekiel 16:6 and I laid my head down on my arms and had GLorianna put cold rags on my neck, until I felt “normal” again.

Jumping forward to the end….once I could focus again I removed the paper towel, which had barely any blood on it, and examined my hand.

This was June 12th.

It stung but didn’t really hurt. It seemed like the screw shot through my hand and then bounced out. I have no idea how. All I know is the Lord was watching out for me. It didn’t hit any tendons and I was able to move my hand. I didn’t have any stiffness. I could move all my fingers. So I just kept a bandaid on it for a few days and kind of forgot about it.

This is what it looked like on June 18.

The holes are totally closed up and its healing rather quickly. And today (July 7) it’s barley noticeable. All I can say is Thank you Lord. I know it was His tender mercies that kept me safe.

Needless to say I had to have Trevor help me finish my ladder. But I love the way it turned out.

A couple of my cousins decided to host a tea party for my Grandma. It was nice to see some of the granddaughters and great granddaughters, get together. We didn’t stay long because Grandma can’t handle a lot of people for very long, but it was nice to see her and some of the cousins again. This isn’t even all of them. There are a lot of us. This is only the ones that live here.
