Zion’s graduation turned out really nice. It was a lot of work and Trevor, Zion and I put a lot into it, but it turned out really good. I headed up the food committee. Trevor and Zion worked on the slideshow and the interviews. We had 10 graduates this year. We had the Graduation ceremony on, Friday, May 10 and then we gave Zion a small party on Saturday, May 11 for those that couldn’t make the ceremony.
The grads decided to have a simple cake with “Class of 2019” and their name. So we had 10 different cakes and 5 different types of popcorn. The grads also picked the theme “Following His Footsteps.”
The backdrop was made by one of the graduating boys and his dad. They did a fantastic job.
And the grads gave each of their moms a bouquet of flowers.
Young Foundations gave each of the graduates a really nice pyramid and a jacket, as well as their diploma. They pyramids had their names, year, and the theme quote and scripture on it.
The graduates played a very big part in directing the graduation too. Zion played and recorded “He Leadeth Me” on the piano and the grads walked in to that. Several of the grads also played and recorded their own music for the slide show. It was a great way for them to include their talents into the ceremony.
Zion’s party went well, too and he had a nice turnout. Thank you to all who came and helped celebrate his big accomplishment.
