Memorial Day Weekend

What a busy weekend. We started off the weekend by going to a play on Friday night. “Singing in the Rain” One of Zion and Azariahs soccer buddys also does drama and he was playing the part of Cosmo Brown. So we went and saw that. The kids did an awesome job. It was a very fun evening.

Zion, Nolan and Azariah

Trevor had been scheduled to preach in Illinois this weekend, but the boys were also invited to go to Holiday World with some of the church youth. So after talking to one of the families from church, we decided that the boys could go to Holiday World with them and stay with them for the remainder of the weekend. We would pick them up on Sunday evening when we returned.

Zion, Gabe and Azariah

This is one of the rides that Zion rode. But Azariah said no way. I dont blame him at all. Yikes!

After dropping the boys off with their friends for the weekend, Trevor, Glorianna and I headed to Illinois. We stopped at the Indianapolis Zoo on the way for some family fun. Glorianna has been asking to go to the zoo and the boys are not big fans, so this was the perfect time to go.

We saw lots of cool animals and a really cool dolphin show.

There was a small roller coaster at the zoo and Glorianna said she wanted to go on it so she could conquer her fears of roller coasters. So Trevor took her on it. She loved it!

This is Kronk. He was really close to the fence and kept moving his head around looking at people. One of the zoo keepers finally drug him away and back to the rest of the flock. Apparently he likes to hang out near the fence and hope that someone will try to pet him so he can bite them. Ha!

After the zoo, we finished out trip to Illinois. We had a nice cookout with the church group there and spent the rest of the evening just hanging out. While we were there, Glorianna and her friend Olivia decided to ride the 4 Wheeler. They went over the same path that Olivia normally goes on, but the day before it had rained quite a bit and washed out part of the path. Olivia did not know this, so when they arrived at that part of the road, which was also part of a hill over the creek, the 4 Wheeler slide down the bank and both girls and the 4 Wheeler landed in the creek. It was pretty deep. The 4 Wheeler ended up upside down in the creek. Thankfully, not on top of the girls. Both were wearing helmets and were able to get out of the water and back up the bank with no trouble. Even tho they were both soaked and covered in dirt and mud, neither one was hurt. There wasnt even any scratches on them. And the 4 Wheeler didnt suffer any damage either. So we thank the Lord for protecting the girls and watching over them.

Service on Sunday was good. Trevor preached on “Leaving the Old Temple”. It was really good. After a nice lunch and some more fellowship, we headed back home.

We ended the long weekend on Monday, by spending the day with our good friends, Bro. Wade and Sis. Heidi. We enjoyed great food and even greater fellowship.
