Getting Ready….

Every summer I go through the school room and try to downsize a bit to make room for new stuff. This year I decided to do a bit more and repaint the whole room. I had promised Trevor I’d let him pick the next project so I did this one mostly by myself with a little help from the kids, so he wouldn’t have to do anything. And I worked on it mostly during the day when he was gone. That’s not really “Starting a new project” is it? After all, I usually rearrange the school room every summer anyway. (GRIN) Trevor did take pity on me and help with some of the trimming on the third day, but I finally got it all done. I got rid of a ton of stuff from the closets and shelves that I had forgotten we even had. Out with the old..in with the new.

Here are some before, and in process, pictures. We had painted this room two different shades of green 11 years ago and I was so sick of it.

We had quite a bit of the grey left over from when we repainted the kitchen and living room. So instead of getting new paint I just decided to use what we had. Modern Grey (the lighter color) on the walls, and Pavestone (the darker grey) on the desk area. The desk paint isn’t sticking very well so we may have to get a sealer to keep it from scratching off. But for now this will work. The trim was the leftover “Snowbound”.

Glorianna wanted to change her desk, so I swapped mine and hers. She’s now in the corner and I’m by Azariah. It actually worked out great. And with the lighter walls, the room looks bigger now. It’s going to be so nice to start school in a fresh new room. I just don’t know if I want to hang up all of my charts again. But I’m sure I will.

There still a few more little things to do. I’ve still got books to find homes for and restock the pencils and such but for the most part I’m done. I’m not ready for summer to be over yet tho, so I’m hoping to enjoy the rest of the summer and praying it goes slow.
